Background
After performing regular maintenance on a BMW motorcycle (such as oil changes), the dashboard shows an incorrect maintenance reminder caused by a malfunction, or after carrying out special maintenance such as brake pad replacement, you will need to use the service reset function of the diagnostic scanner. This function will reset the vehicle' s maintenance reminder and allow you to manually set the recommended mileage and date for the next service based on the current maintenance condition.
Preparation

Detail Steps:
①Select 【MOTO Diag】--【BMW】--Latest Version to enter 【Diagnosis】 ;




②Click【New Version (–2025)】;

③Click【Auto Identify[VIN]】;

④Click【Read】, wait for the device to read the vehicle identification number (VIN), then click【OK】;

⑤Verify that the Input VIN is correct, then click【OK】;

⑥Confirm the identified vehicle model year, and click【OK】if correct ;

⑦Choose【Common Special Functions】(You can also find the Service reset function in the service menu) ;

⑧Click【Service Lamp Reset】;

⑨Click【Enter】;

⑩Before performing the settings, please first confirm if the following vehicle information is accurate :
A. Current total distance: 1,283 km
B. Current calendar date: 9.8.2025
C. Next service date: 7.2026
D. Service remaining distance 0 km (This means the preset service mileage is used up and needs to be reset immediately)
E. Target odometer reading service 1283 KM
Confirm that the above 5 items are correct, please click【①Continue with setting the Service Interval Indicator】;

⑪First, the system will show two sets of dates:
A. Instrument Cluster Date: The current calendar date of the vehicle
B. Scanner Date: The current calendar date of the tester
Please verify that the Instrument Cluster Date (A) is accurate. If incorrect, choose one of the following options to correct it:
Please verify and confirm whether the vehicle instrument cluster date (A) is accurate. If the date or time is incorrect, Perform calibration in any of the following ways:
1. Synchronize the device time: Click【①Accept the date and time from the diagnosis system】to synchronize the vehicle's device with the diagnostic scanner ;
2. Set manually: Click【②Set calendar date manually】 to input the correct date and time directly.
After confirming or adjusting the date, click【③Continue with setting the Service Interval Indicator】.

The diagnostic device has automatically generated default service recommendations based on the vehicle' s date and mileage: the next service is due at 10,000 km or in 1 year.
The maintenance parameters can be flexibly configured via any one of the following four methods according to the actual maintenance requirements:
①Accept service data: Accept the recommended 10,000 km / 1-year interval
②Adjust remaining mileage: Manually enter a custom mileage interval
③Adjust service date: Manually select a future service due date
④Adjust remaining mileage and service date Back: Manually enter a custom mileage and select a custom due date
Select the method based on your maintenance plan. Once set, you can continue with the next steps.


⑫The service data for the next service has been successfully set. If the service parameters are incorrect, you can reset them following procedure outlined above.
