Background：After cleaning the throttle, the 2015 BMWR 1200 RT has unstable idling speed, no fault code.

Repair Tips

Repair Tips：After performing any of the following operations, throttle need to be reset;

●Disassembled the throttle

●Cleaned the throttle

●Replaced the throttle

Solutions

Solutions：By using MS80, enter【Reset of the throttle valve adaptation values】

Detailed Steps：

①Connect motorcycle with MS80，enter BMW，click【Auto Identify[VIN]】；

   Tips：you can also enter【Select from vehicle】 to enter model manually; 

②After confirm if the VIN is correct, click【Enter】;

③Click【Motorcycle（Road）｜（2014-2016）】;

④Click【ENG】；

⑤Click【Enter】；

 Tips：Click【Diag Socket】or【Diag Connector】can check the socket location or diag cable information.

⑥Click【Special Function】；

⑦Click【Reset of the throttle valve adaptation values】；

⑧Click【Enter】，and follow the steps;

⑨Turn on the engine and let it run at idle until vent turns on, adjustment done;

⑩Idle speed returns to normal.

Summary

After disassembling, cleaning, and replacing the throttle valve, the idling speed is unstable. Using the MS80 scanner to reset the throttle adaptive value, and let the engine control unit relearn the throttle position data to solve the problem.
