Background
Background: A BRP CAN-AM RSS990 (equipped with ROTAX 990 engine) failed to start, it stayed on reverse gear and couldn’t be changed. Connecting MS80 with the motorcycle by M043, the device couldn't get access to the motorcycle’s system and reminded ”nitial communication failed,please confirm that the power or diagnostic line is connected normally!”when turning on the motorcycle's ignition switch.

Causes Analysis:
①The device's power indicator is off from the technician’s feedback. If cables are all connected in right way, the indicator should be lighted on. Otherwise, it might be some situations as below:
●Plug into wrong diag socket;
●Diag socket in abnormal situations such as abnormal voltage, broken circuit, pins into wrong holes of diag socket.
②After excluding connecting with the wrong diag socket,the technician detects the voltage of diag socket finding a 12.3V pin boot, so it might be fuse blown or circuit broken.
③After checking its fuses, the technician finds an F7 10A blown out.
④After replacing its fuse, the motorcycle successes to start but its engine fault light is on.
⑤Connecting MS80 with the motorcycle, its power indicator is on, enter into【Moto Diag】;
⑥Click【ALL】, input “BRP” in search bar, click【BRP】;
⑦Click the newest BRP edition;
⑧Click【Select from system】, 【Auto Scan】;
⑨After auto scanning, it shows faults as below, click【Erase codes】;
⑩Only the fault of ABS system can't be removed, click【fault】for more details;
⑪Click '？' to check the possible causes: Low brake fluid;
⑫Add into brake fluid;
⑬Click【Erase codes】again, all systems are normal. The engine fault light is off, the problem gets resolved.
